The Canadian Society for Renaissance Studies encourages multidisciplinary studies in the early modern period (1400 to 1700) by students and established scholars in both official languages.
The 2018 conference of the Canadian Society for Renaissance Studies will held May 26 to 28, 2018 as a part of the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences' annual Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Regina. The theme for Congress 2018 is "Gathering Diversities" in honour of "the history of the area as a traditional place of gathering."
The CSRS program will include scholarly papers on the early modern period in a variety of disciplines, including literature, history, philosophy, music, art history, history of the book, bibliography, digital humanities, medicine, and cultural studies. The CSRS also welcomes scholarly papers examining the Renaissance and early modern period from a global or non-European perspective. As is appropriate for scholarship on the Renaissance, cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary presentations are also welcome. Proposals can be submitted and papers can be presented in either English or French.
