First Nations - FN Atrium
Kisiskâciwan: Indigenous Voices from where the River Flows Swiftly (UR Press) covers over 200 years of history and includes works by over 100 writers, storytellers and historical figures. The launch for this anthology will feature readings by several Saskatchewan Indigenous writers, including Buffy Sainte-Marie, Louise Halfe, Harold Johnson, Rita Bouvier, Randy Lundy, Warren Cariou, Lisa Bird-Wilson, Beth Cuthand, Andrea Menard, Solomon Ratt, Carol Daniels, Mika Lafond, Floyd Favel, Gloria Mehlmann, and many more! The event will be open to the community.
Speakers: Buffy Sainte-Marie, Singer song-writer and music legend; Louise Halfe, Author and former Poet Laureate of Saskatchewan; Warren Cariou, Canada Research Chair in Narrative, Community and Indigenous Cultures and Associate Professor, English, Film and Theatre, University of Manitoba
