You have 700 chemicals and a pound of plastic in your body – and no legal right to resist that. In Canada and the United States, you have no legal right to a breath of clean air or a drink of pure water. Yet more than 180 of the UN's 193 member countries do recognize those rights; more than 100 include them in the constitution.

Green Rights: The Human Right to a Healthy World (Silver Donald Cameron and Chris Beckett, 2016; www.GreenRights.com) shows the power of these rights by recounting inspiring stories of citizen victories in Argentina, the Philippines, Ecuador, the Netherlands and elsewhere. Green Rights is a work of “documentary activism,” designed to stir Canadians and Americans into demanding environmental rights for themselves. For the Green Rights team, this is not just a film. It's their legacy. One the filmmakers, Silver Donald Cameron, will be present at the screening and will do a Q&A after the film.
