This year, the federal government released A Place to Call Home, Canada’s first ever National Housing Strategy (NHS). The NHS has been a long time in the making, representing decades of work by anti-poverty and housing advocates. However, now that it has finally arrived, will this important piece of policy manage to realize the best outcomes in our communities? This session will map out many of the key elements of the NHS, and examine its strengths and weaknesses in responding to the needs of Canada’s most vulnerable populations.
